Evaluation

I am really happy to have finished my book... also happy with the final product. I really like how the book tells its own story  and that others can use there own imagination. how ever i did not enjoy doing a blog to show my research as i don't think it is me and i much prefer doing a sketchbook, because i like to make notes in it as i go rather than putting it online.
I also  found it hard putting my research together on the blog as i didn't always know what to write/say. In the future i don't think i will do a blog and i shall stick to the sketch books.
How ever i did have a few weakness as i ended up finding it hard to put my book together and also binding it. i made the hard back for my book a bit to big so it didn't properly fit all together.
but over all i did enjoy this brief and making my own book, i also like how it fits together and it works as a piece. i also found it hard coming up with a concept, but hopefully the new concept works well now.
i also like how i presented the book in a brown box to make it look fragile like an old scrap book.
I am happy with the images but i feel as if i could have done more, or even put more images into the book.  also feel as if i could have done some location photo shoots, but looking at the final book i don't think the book would have looked right. i also feel that i have spent enough time on this brief/ making the book but as i said before i did find it hard doing a blog.

finished book

these images below are of my book as a finished product. for my book i also had Hannah write some thing about my book.
this is what she wrote:hand made gives a glimpse behind the scenes in the art of dress making. the abstract images and use of textiles make this hand crafted book a thing to treasure.

Book Pages

these images are of the pages from my book.
i feel that making my book has been pretty success full, and it works really well as a final product. i like how you don't need any text for my book and it kind of tells its own story from looking through it.
i am happy with the final out come and how my book is so different to every one else, which makes it unusual.

As you can see i have also made some of my pages out of fabric and paper to give the reader more of a feel of what my book is about.

size of book

for the book brief i was unsure on if i should make my book or not. but after doing a lesson on book making i decide to make my own book as it was going to suit my concept more. i found the lesson really interesting and useful as i found out a lot on book making.

below are images of the book that i made in the lesson.

My book will be square and the size of  my book will be width 28cm and the height 24cm.
these scetches of flowers are what i'm going to be using for the back rounds of my pages for my book. i have done this because i wanted to keep the theme of flowers.

photos going in my book

the images above are what are going to be going into my book.

New Idea

After looking at all of the images that i took in the studio, i decided to go with my second idea for the book project. my second idea is to go behind the scenes of a dress maker, making a dress. My aim is to take abstract images of things that make a dress. on the pages of the book I'm going to have one image and a word.for example how much fabric it takes to make a dress etc.

I have chosen to go with this idea because the first idea that i went for i found it really hard to come up with the concept and the reason behind why i wanted to take pictures of dresses. after thinking about my idea and going through my research i wanted to take my photos in an abstract way, and i wanted my images to look really textured.

Test Shoot

These images are from my test shoot in the studio before i went on location. the above image is a simple image of the model sat down. i was trying to create a soft lighting effect which i think i have achieved.
with this image i wanted the model to do the Dior pose, which i think has kind of worked.
i really do love the above image with the tutu, and the direction that the subject is looking in, and the lighting on the models face.
